Fire Safety Assembly

Today our year 1 children had a visit from a local Fireman. He spoke to the children about dangers in their house and what to do if there is a fire. He told us what to do if we were on fire and we got to practise the 'stop, drop and roll' technique. The talk was very informative and the children enjoyed learning about fire safety.

Year 1 Building project

Our building project is complete! Thank you for your support and understanding relating to the slight disruption and changes during the build.  We hope you really like it. The children are certainly enjoying getting out and doing more of our work outdoors (before it gets too cold!).  Please see pictures of the finished canopy below (and the slideshow of the build below that!).

Hi everyone! In year 1 we're pleased to welcome Miss Washington, Mrs Christmas and Mrs Kali to our team alongside Mr Panting, Mrs Bedia, Mrs Clarke, Mrs Naseer and Mrs Mohammed. We have had an exciting time so far and are now getting used to our new classrooms and teachers. We have learnt the golden rules for our year group and we are following these well (these are shown below):

Notices:

·         Indoor P.E. is every Friday so please make sure children have their P.E. kits and remove any earrings or other jewellery.

·         Reading books are changed on Monday so please make sure that your child has their reading diary and reading book in their book bag (although we do request that they have them available to us every day so we can comment in them as we read with the children).

·         Year 1 children will be swimming each Thursday (6 weeks for the Bees first, then 6 weeks for the Ladybirds).

·         We will be having a trip to Beaumanor Hall as part of our Pirates topic after the October half term, details and letters to follow.
